A Fresh Take on Custom Interiors

Interior Designers like working with us because we bring a keen eye for design and a distinct perspective

Meghan Posnanski, designer and owner of Summit Drive Design, has worked with Jake Knox several times. Summit Drive Design specializes in everything from custom reupholstery and accessorizing to assisting with a full remodel of a room or home.

When a client wanted a butcher block island and open shelving, Meghan knew exactly who to call to get the job done, and done well. Jake produced and installed both, in addition to building a custom buffet with a built-in beverage fridge for another client’s kitchen.

“I've worked with contractors in the past that are non-responsive, dismissive and lack creativity. Jake is the opposite. He's attentive, always early to a meeting and is very imaginative.  I can describe a concept and he'll be able to follow my vision and draw something on the spot for me,” said Meghan.

Kitchen remodels can be long and tedious. Meghan relies on Jake for his unique style and craftsmanship with wood, and to offer a different approach to the design concept.  For one particular project, she introduced Jake to a client and he was surprised and fascinated with all of his ideas.  After the meeting, it was clear her client wanted Jake to be a bigger part of the picture than originally expected.

Meghan admits, “If you've ever met Jake, you'll know he is very easy going and patient.  Once you meet him and have a conversation, you're new friends.”

Jake has also proven to Meghan that he’s a go-getter.  Not only has be built his business from the ground up, but also isn’t afraid to take the reins on large commercial projects. On another project with Meghan, he voluntarily reached out to the developer on the project for a meeting to introduce himself and show him around his shop.

Next on the docket, wrapping up a five-month kitchen renovation by creating a wood "cloud" on the ceiling above the island with two large pendants, shiplap around the island as well as installing a custom hood featuring shiplap and distressed wood.

“Jake approaches each job with ease and confidence.  Whether he's working on a restaurant or a residential kitchen, he gives every job with 110 percent. His work is impeccable and knows all you need to know about wood!” said Meghan.
